How's this course going #19

I think that this course is going very good so far. I think the work has been kind of easy so it has been easy for me to follow it. I like how we do things on the computer it makes everything easier to turn in. The essays have been good topics and easy to write about. The thing I like most about this class is writing in the journals because it helps get our thoughts out and makes us think since our class is so early in the morning.

Journal #18 AZ Central

Today I read an article about how parents and teachers are worried that Halloween will affect high school students chances of passing the AIMS. I think that no matter what day or holiday it is students can pass the test if they really want to. If they study like they are suppose to then they should pass the test with no problems. I think that some will try to use Halloween as an excuse for not passing the test and really they just did not try hard enough. If they do not take this serious then it is them that will not walk across the stage come graduation time. It all depends on if they want to succeed.

Journal #16 Freewrite

I think that college life is totally different from highschool. I really miss highschool because all of my friends were all together and we got to see each other everyday, now we are all scattered everywhere and it's very different. I really love going to college though I like how I don't have the same class everyday and that I get out early everyday, but going to college is a quicker life. The way we do assignments are different and just about everything we do envolves using a computer or going on the internet. I still need to learn how to keep up but I will get the hang of it soon.

Journal #15 AZ Central

I read an article today about a part-time police officer who went to his girlfriends home and opened fire on her and five of her friends. He killed her and four of her friends but one of them pretended to be dead and survived the incident. After shooting the victims he then committed suicide by shooting himself three times in the head. I think that this was a terrible tragedy that probaly could have been avoided. I think that he should have just talked to her to try and fix the problem. Violence is never a way to solve a problem, in the end someone always ends up getting hurt.

Journal #14 A plan I came up with recently

A plan that I recently came up with would have to be this past week. My uncle passed away a week a go and my family decided to go to Oklahoma for the funeral. All of the adults decided to drive down there last Wednesday, so I decided to volunteer myself to babysit my four year old cousin and thirteen year old little sister. That was the biggest mistake I had ever made. The weekend started off well, but then my sister and little cousin began to argue and fight and that created a lot of chaos. Then my little cousin was playing outside and fell and got the littlest cut and she cried for a long time so I had to buy her some ice cream to calm her down. I think that this has been one of my worst weekends ever, I was so happy when my family came back.

Journal #13 My favorite commercial

My favorite commercial would have to be the Orbits gum commercial where the wife catches her husband cheating with his assistant. It is my favorite commercial because the wife and the assistant start arguing and instead of cursing each other out they called each other lent lickers and the wife called the husband a son of a biscuit eating bulldog head. Then the Orbits gum lady comes in and says if you have a dirty mouth clean it up with Orbits. The commercial is really funny because of the way they say things to each other. I think that, that is one of the funniest commercials I have seen in a while.

Journal #12 AZ Central

Today I read a couple of different articles about celebrities getting arrested and most of them were for driving while drunk and they have suspended licenses. I think that celebrities should get treated the same way as if they were a normal person driving while they were drunk. No one should get special treatment just because they have more money than someone else. Everyone should be treated equally when it comes to breaking the law, but that is not what is happening. A lot stars have broken the law many of times and all they get is a warning and I do not think that it is fair.

Journal # 11 Most Spectacular Place

I think that the most spectacular place I have ever seen would have to be this place I saw this summer in California called San Pedro's. It was a little city in California that my aunt took me and some of my other family to. It was right by the beach it was very beautiful. We went right as the sun was setting it was crazy because I had only been to the beach once before in my life and it was a very nice scenery, it was also very cold out there. There were not that many people out there but most of them out there was there to watch the view. I could see people out on their boats sailing some were even swimming. If I ever had the chance again I would go visit that place as much as possible.

Journal #10 Wikipedia Article

There was an article today about an Indian chess player that is the world champion. I think that, that is an honor to know that he was considered the best player in the world. I think that chess is a game that most people in this country do not take very serious. I was in the chess club for three years in my middle school and I still play. Most of my friends think that it is a game for people who are considered nerds and I think they are wrong, it is a great game and it causes you to think while you are playing. People think that since it is not a sport where you use contact then it is not a sport and that is wrong. Chess is a sport that we are sleeping on and I do not think it gets the credit it deserves.

Journal #9 AZ Central

I think that driving while talking on the phone or text messaging is very dangerous. I think that there should be laws that band people from doing so. When a person is driving there only focus should be on the road. If people are going to talk on the phone then they need to get a hands free set so they can keep their eyes on the road. There are many accidents caused each day and I think that driving while you are on the phone can be one less thing that people are being killed by that can be prevented

Journal #8 How's class going so far

I think that class has been good so far. I am not use to getting different assignments like these back to back, but I think that the work keeps me busy and I think that we are learning a lot in this class. I really like how we keep a journal in this class, I think that it is important to get all of our thoughts and feelings out even if we are just writing them. I really have no problems yet in this class. I think that I have to get use to having so many different assignments in class. I am use to turning most of my assignments in on the computer I am still not use to that.

Journal #7

Something that I noticed about myself today is that I always wake up on time no matter what day it is. I wake up every morning during the week to get ready for school. If my alarm is on or if I forget to set it the night before I still wake up at 6:30 every morning. I think that my body is so use to waking up at that time that it is just a daily routine. Even sometimes on the weekends I wake up early, but I usually just fall back to sleep.

Journal #6

I read an article about how sites like Myspace has complicated roommate issues when going to college. I feel that a person will find out things about their roommate no matter who they know or find it out from. I think that people should talk to each other more that way they can get a better understanding of what that person is going through and where they came from. Myspace should not be something that we use to build relationships with the people that we are going to be living with. The things that people put on Myspace sometimes is probably fake and you should not judge someone based off of something you read.

Journal #4

I don't know if I would like to be famous. I think being famous has it's good and it's bad sides, I think that one of the good things about being famous is that you get to have a lot of nice things and everyone knows who you are. I think one of the bad things about being famous would be that you would not get to have any privacy and you would not get to be with your family all of the time. I think I would like being famous but I think I would get tired of it after a while because you should always have people around you that are real and want to enjoy your success with you, not ones who want to use you and just be around for the money. So if and when I become famous I want people to know that I am still the same person.

Dare Journal #3

There have been many times were someone has dared me to do something. I'm not really the type of person to actually do a dare, but there was one time were I followed out the dare and I got into a lot of trouble behind it. I was about ten years old and my older cousin who was twelve decided that we should play truth or dare, and me being young and not thinking decided to play. When it came time for me to pick truth or dare I picked dare to show him and my other older cousins I was not afraid to play the game. So my cousin decided that he wanted me to run up to my moms friend and to flip her off. At first I said no then i thought about it and decided to go ahead with the dare, so I went up to my moms friend and did it, it was the worst mistake. Not only was I grounded, but I also got whipped for it too.

Journal #2

I think I have many skills, but my strongest communication skills would probably my reading skills and sometimes my writing. I think that I am a very good reader, I like reading things that are interesting like the news paper or different books. When it comes to writing I think I can write well, but I think I need to improve a little more. Another skill I think I have is getting to know and meeting new people. Overall I think I have good communication skills but I still can improve.

Journal#1 My Goals

I have many goals in life but I have not always followed through with them. Some of my real world goals would be to finish college and graduate from a university and another would be to become a Pharmacist. My goals for this class are to maintain a passing grade in this class hopefully an A, and to learn how to be a better writer. I think that setting goals for yourself is a good way to stay focused and organized, but when you set a goal you should always be able to follow through with it. I have had many goals set but I have not always followed through with them , so this school year I plan on accomplishing them this year.
